One thing I realized is that he (Slinger) likes to look away after almost every hit. Which i don't understand why?

You can tunnel only if you know when to. I tunnel, slug, camp... do all of the things that survivors cry about in post-game or wherever. You just have to know when to do it. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to kill survs. Don't think about it. just hunt and kill. You can do fine as a tunneller, but I advise knowing when to do it.

I feel like tunneling is a sign of inexperience and unfortunately since it is a go to strat in comp then a lot of new killers think it’s the way to go in pubs.
In my opinion the best thing to do is use a combination of aura/chase/slowdown depending on what you need for your killer and then my cherry on top for most is heal slowdown/anti heal. Unless they are literally unhooking under your nose, leave hook, push the others off gen, if you are doing a chase with someone then you have 3 people occupied vs camping hook you have 1 occupied. Once you are decent at the game and can get your next down before they have fully reset then you just keep rotating the pressure. Once you get them on the hamster wheel of trying to unhook and heal it’s only a matter of time before map resources are gone and they are all on death hook. A lot of my builds use gift of pain or sloppy butcher or both. If they don’t heal then simply down a couple and threaten ending the game right then and make them play.

What I don't understand is why you can prestige 100 a character without ever having to play as them, like this dude is high prestige deathslinger so you'd assume he'd be one of the best slingers ever right? But if I unlock Dracula tomorrow and just continue playing survivor, I can eventually get him to prestige 100 and have no idea what he does. FIX THIS BEHAVIOR!!! You're prestige should be tied into actually playing games on that specific character, and doing well. Base it off of the grade progression if you have to, but for the love of God FIX IT!

I don't play a whole lot of killer, so my opinion here probably isn't the best. There are only certain situations, that I have noticed, that tunneling and staying near hook is useful to you as the killer. It's not always the wrong play, but to do it right from the start isn't normally what I would consider the correct play. Not saying it's boring to play against or whatever. I just don't see a whole lot of killers in my matches win from that strategy.

EDIT: He's a P71 slinger, I guess more reps isn't going to help and he does need the coaching. /EDIT
Deathslinger here doesn't need coaching as much as they just need a bunch of play time, not that your coaching isn't going to help. Survivor names? I just call them 1 2 3 and 4, lol. Another pro-tip for killers that aim things. You know how people use reshade and it's ok by the devs? Crosshair X is the way, my deathslinger friend. Get that little app, set it up to work with windows game bar if that is your platform and you get a custom crosshair in any game, period, unbannable. It's literally baked into windows. You can literally draw it however you want custom, and auto center it, which means you can also draw it off center if need be and autoplace it exactly the same every time. I didn't end up using it but I drew an absolutely massive monstrosity for sea of thieves. But ultimately to be accurate there, you just need a lot of reps shooting cannons due to actual physics being in the game.

I think this dude would have done better with out the gun this game 💀 so many times it was quicker to just land a basic attack

It seems like they got more lucky than anything hitting any of the survivors given they missed 80% of their shots a lot of which would have been easy if they waited half a second instead of immediately shooting as soon as they aimed down sights
